Top Engineering Colleges in Bangalore - Admission, Reviews & Placements:

BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bangalore

BMSCE is one of the oldest colleges in Bangalore, hence the infrastructure is understandably not very modern but it could be better. They are paying attention to the infra and modernization is a work under progress. However all the academic facilities are up to the mark and there is hardly any complain about it. Campus is enabled with high speed wifi internet which can be freely accessed by students. Research facilities like those present in IITs are lacking. Another thing which is lacking here is proper sporting facilities. There is only one playground for all sports that too isn't well maintained.

Established in 1946 BMS College of Engineering is arguably one of the best colleges not only in Bangalore but also in entire Karnataka to do your B.Tech from. All aspects of this college are likeable and you can enjoy your college life to the fullest here while also managing to perform academically well. Don’t think twice if you get this college.

M.S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) Bangalore

The campus of MSRIT is huge. It is so vast that it feels like a small village. All the courses that can be possibly taught are there in the campus and there are separate, often more than one building for each of them. Also new buildings keep coming up to accommodate for ever increasing courses and students. Infrastructure of some of the new blocks is all the rage while many others are undergoing renovations. Labs are equipped with all the necessary instruments and they are replaced with new ones regularly. There are more than one library of which students make use of. They remain open till 11.30pm during exams. A Digital library is also there which can be accessed twenty four-seven. WiFi is currently provided in only a few areas of the campus but LAN is accessible from labs and browsing rooms and serves purpose well. Sports facilities are something students feel should improve. There is a common playground for cricket, football and other sports.
M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is rightly considered among top 5 colleges in Bangalore. It’s a good college for overall development of a student as there is equal focus on studies and extra activities. And the four years spent over here will be full of enjoyment and good memories.

PES University, PES Institute of Technology (PESIT), Bangalore

Infrastructure of PESIT is pretty amazing. Although the campus is not that big, it is self-sufficient and pretty. Labs are well-equipped and well-maintained too. Library is also very nice and has abundance of books. Campus is wifi enabled but it’s not fully reliable. There is a proper cricket ground but it is used more often by companies for their tournaments than students. There is also a nice basketball court.
Hostels are really good and they’re very strict as well. Single, twin or triple sharing rooms are available. Charges for a room in the new block are Rs 63,000 including food. There are 3 messes and all of them serve pretty good food at reasonable prices. Wifi is not there in the hostels.

In the words of a student, this college is “not for enjoyment, come here for achievement”. PESIT though can’t be described as a school, is a highly disciplined college at the least. You can have fun too, if you learn to handle academic pressure well and most amazing placements await you.

R V College of Engineering (RVCE) Bangalore

The RV College of Engineering (RVCE) campus is huge and is also very beautiful. There is a separate block for each department. The academic infrastructure is top class. Labs are of course well-equipped and also have equipment which are not usually found in any other colleges of the city. The entire campus is Wifi enabled, which however isn't very reliable. Library is pretty big and has a lot of books. But it needs to enhance its collection as some of the books are not found in sufficient numbers. Also college needs to provide better facilities for sports. There are a couple of playgrounds (unlike many other engineering colleges in Bangalore, where there are absolutely no grounds or open space) but and they are not in a very good condition and students in general aren't too happy with this factor.
Hostels for 2nd and final year are new and they’re nice. The first years hostels are average. But the 3rd years hostels are old and in a pathetic condition. There are just 4 bathrooms between 64 students. Mess food is fine but offers no variety to students. Hostel charges are Rs 45,000 a year including mess charges.

It’s all about acads in RV College of Engineering (RVCE). Though college is supportive of extra-curricular activities, most of student themselves lack enthusiasm. If that doesn’t bother you much, go ahead and join the college - you’re assured of getting a nice job at the end of your course.
